Mr. Julius Anderson / Chairman MBL

Julius Anderson retired as a Chicago Public School principal and resigned from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) teaching doctoral students to be school administrators.

During Julius Anderson’s tenure as a principal, his students’ performance levels in Reading and Math were achieved by most of his students in an urban setting plagued by the many burdens in the North Lawndale community.  These proven abilities as an administrator where imparted to his students while teaching at University of Illinois at Chicago, as all of his pupils became school administrators.

The low achievement of public school male students in the United States urban areas has become the challenge undertaken by Men For a Better Lawndale (MBL), a not-for-profit organization founded by Julius Anderson.
